Is Rightmove an estate agent?

Back in the old days, estate agents advertised properties in the local paper. You could only see what was for sale once a week and the pictures of properties were very small and the text was even smaller.

Here’s a blast from the past. It’s from The News Wednesday March 10th 2004

You knew that The News wasn’t an estate agent and Rightmove isn’t an estate agent either.

Rightmove was created in 1999 and is now the first website buyers go to look for property. It’s a place where agents can advertise their properties and buyers can find them.

Buyers don’t need to pay to buy a paper to see property any more. Estate agents pay to advertise and house hunters don’t pay a penny. They can be at home on their tablet, laptop or computer looking for a new house at any time of day or night.

Your property can be found easily

Did you know that if you turn on location services when using the Rightmove app on a smartphone it will show you properties for sale right near where you are standing? How amazing is that?

You may wonder why I am only talking about rightmove. All our buyers use it and found their new home there.

Properties in the shop window doesn’t bring buyers to our sellers either so that’s why our window doesn’t have them!

You may not think Rightmove matters to you but it matters to buyers and it’s where they will find your house and take the first steps towards buying it.
